Moving and change of ownership
When you sell a property or transfer its ownership to another person, be sure to remember to transfer the connection and usage agreement with the water management company to the new owner as well.
Follow these instructions:
Fill in the ownership change notification (pdf form "Sopimuksensiirtolomake"). Remember to include the final reading on the water meter on the form.
Further information on connection fees
Please note that the final calculation is always sent by Turun Vesihuolto. The connection fee is calculated when the HPAC plans of the property have been sent through Building Control to Turun Vesihuolto for approval. Further information on the calculation and extent of the connection fee can be requested at the Turun Vesihuolto Oy customer service.

The quality of the water in Turku is excellent
Did you know that the domestic water we deliver fulfils all of the quality requirements and recommendations issued by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health with ease?* The water flowing from your tap is artificial groundwater produced at Virttaankangas. The quality of our domestic water remains constant for all of the parameters examined throughout the year, and the water we lead into the network remains nice and cool even in summer.
This is the route of the water
The water flowing from your tap comes from the Kokemäenjoki river. From the river, the water is pumped into the pre-treatment plant of Turun Seudun Vesi Oy, where all solid matter, such as clay, is removed from the water. This process also removes 99% of all pathogens. The murky river water is transformed, and as it leaves the plant, it is clear. From there, it starts a 30-kilometre trip towards the Virttaankangas ridge.
Usage and basic fees starting from 1 July, 2019:
- Domestic water €1.77/m³ (1,000 litres) incl. VAT 24%
- Wastewater €1.82/m³ (1,000 litres) incl. VAT 24%
- In addition, we collect a basic fee for both water and wastewater.

The basic fee is collected every month, and it is defined based on the size of the water meter. The basic fee is the same amount every month, even if the apartment is empty.
The most common meter size in single-family houses is 19 mm. 25 mm meters are often used in apartment buildings and other larger sites. The size of the meter defines how much water can pass through it. Usually, the meter size is decided by the HPAC engineer, or in some cases, Turun Vesihuolto Oy.
Here, you can report your water meter reading easily at any time. In order to log in to the system, you need your consumer and meter number information. Once you are logged in, you can easily enter your water meter reading. The consumer and meter numbers are listed on your invoice.
Turun Vesihuolto removes some of the limitations in its services.
