There was a finding of enterococcus bacteria (2 pmy / 100 ml) in a water sample taken from Runosmäki on Wednesday 12.4.2023. A repeat sample taken on Friday 14.4.2023 did not show any sign of enterococcus bacteria. The recommendation on boiling drinking water applies on a restricted area until the safety on the water has been ensured and three subsequent samples show a clean result.

Tap water samples taken from other areas in Runosmäki on Friday 14.4.2023 did not contain any microbiological or other kinds of issues in the quality. Water quality fulfills all requirements in other parts of Turun Vesihuolto’s water pipe network.

The issue is being investigated with property owners of the area. Next release on this subject is given on Wednesday 19.4.2023 at the latest.

According to household water regulation there must not be any enterococcus bacteria in household water at all. Turun Vesihuolto is keeping track of water quality regularly with water samples around the pipe network. Enterococcus bacteria in Runosmäki was found in a routine observation.
