The quality of the water in the Turku water supply network is excellent.
In 2024, 190 water samples were taken from the tap water in Turku, and 41 properties that measure the quality were examined. All water samples met the quality requirements set by the authority. The quality of the water in the Turku water supply network is excellent. This is stated in the Turku Water Supply Company’s water quality table, which contains a summary of the water analyses carried out during the year. Cold tap water can be used as is for drinking water, cooking, washing and other everyday tasks without filtration or other treatment.
The quality of the tap water in Turku is regularly monitored in accordance with a monitoring programme approved by a health inspector and which meets the requirements of the Domestic Water Regulation. Water samples in accordance with the programme are sent for analysis to the laboratory of Lounais-Suomen vesi- ja ympäristötutkimus Oy. In addition, the water quality is monitored in tests carried out in Turku Water Supply Company’s own laboratory.
