Change in domestic water and waste water usage fees and basic fees as of 1 January 2025
The Board of Directors of Turun Vesihuolto Oy has decided on the new VAT-free prices for domestic water and waste water usage fees and basic fees. All prices are subject to the applicable value added tax. In addition, the Board of Turun Vesihuolto Oy decided to make a change to the basic fee categories. The changes will enter into force on 1 January 2025.
The increases in fees are used to maintain a sufficient level of renovation for the water services network and to prepare for the investment costs of Turun Seudun Vesi Oy’s backup water utility. The costs for the backup utility will increase the price of purchased domestic water.

The price including VAT has been rounded. Usage fees are invoiced based on the cubic prices excluding VAT.
As a result of the increase, the combined cubic price of domestic water and waste water including VAT (1 cubic metre (m3 ) = 1,000 litres) will increase from EUR 3.65 to EUR 3.94. The increase is approximately 8%.
The fees for a detached house with an average water consumption of 160 m3 per year will increase by approximately 46 euros per year, or approximately 4 euros per month. The average water consumption of an ordinary four-person household is 160 m3 in a year.
Basic fees for domestic water and waste water starting 1 January 2025
The basic fees for domestic water and waste water are determined by the size of the water meter. Water meter sizes DN 25 and DN 38 will be separated into their own basic fee categories starting 1 January 2025. The price change of the basic fees only applies to water meters DN 38 and larger.
